Judging Appointments

Recent Horse Show Judging Invitations

A horse owner, producer and rider, Jane considers herself more a horse vet evaluator rather than a judge ‘per se’. However…

Jane’s consistent approach to evaluating all horses in the same way; always looking for forwardness coupled with balance and levelness; and the high regard in which Jane is held within the world of competitive horse sport, has resulted in her being invited to be a ‘celebrity’ judge on a few occasions in the past.

Equine Vet Jane’s recent judging invitations include:

  • British Show Pony Society (BSPS) August 2015 BSPS Summer Championships – Supreme Championship. Out of 5000 original entries, 12 went forward to be judged Show Supreme by Jane
  • British Show Horse Association (BSHA) Hunter Supreme championship at Addington September 2015
  • British Show Pony Society (BSPS) 2015 Burghley Working Hunter Pony Gold Cup.

5-Stage Pre-purchase Horse Examinations
When buying a horse, an equine pre-purchase examination or “horse vetting” by an experienced equine veterinarian is recommended. Equine Vet Jane Nixon follows the British Equestrian Veterinary Association (BEVA) / Royal Collage of Veterinary Surgeons (RCVS) guidelines; which outline the principles of the 5 stage equine pre-purchase examination. Jane regards pre-purchase examination of horses as her most enjoyable professional work, having always been fascinated with the structure and functioning of the horse.
