With 40+ years’ experience and close involvement with both UK + European performance horse, mare & stallion gradings; Cambridge graduate Jane’s key interest is the performance horse and young horse development.
Jane is a British Equestrian Federation (BEF) Director and has appeared on Horse&Country TV in her role as Consultant Vet to the BEF Futurity Young Horse Evaluation & Bridge Schemes.
She is also Consultant Vet to Sport Horse Breeding GB (SHBGB) Breed Committee and British Breeders Network (BBN). Locally, Jane is Consultant Vet to Buckingham Equine Vets (formerly Nixon Equine Vets which Jane formed in 2005).
Equine Vet Jane Nixon has a wealth of knowledge in most areas of equine veterinary practice, gained over the last 40 years. This was enhanced by her late husband; Stewart Hastie’s lifetime of experience and expertise gained over an additional 30 years in advance of Jane’s. In addition to providing routine equine veterinary services to her local client base, Jane also provides 5-stage pre-purchase horse examinations and private equine veterinary referrals and consultancy UK-wide, in addition to holding several prestigious equestrian industry consultancy appointments.

Jane is also a past official FEI Treating Vet and was FEI Veterinary Service Manager for the International CDI Dressage run under FEI rules, held at Addington Manor EC in March each year. Headquartered in Lausanne, Switzerland, the FEI is the INTERNATIONAL governing body for all equestrian sports.
